Welcoming Our Editor-in-Chief to Global Integrated Mathematics

It is with great pleasure and excitement that we, on behalf of the editorial team, Cultech Publishing, and the Editorial Board of Global Integrated Mathematics (GIM), announce the appointment of a distinguished scholar who will be joining our leadership team as the Editor-in-Chief: Distinguished Professor Gaston M. N'Guerekata, Ph.D., of Morgan State University, USA.

Professor N'Guerekata's arrival marks a significant milestone in GIM's development. We are confident that, with his profound expertise in mathematics, extensive international academic network, and deep commitment to open science, he will bring fresh perspectives and renewed energy to the journal, guiding GIM to even greater heights.

Professor Gaston M. N'Guerekata is a highly influential scholar in the global mathematics community, whose distinguished career is reflected in numerous top honors and recognitions. He has been ranked among Stanford University's "World's Top 2% Researchers" for six consecutive years from 2020 to 2025, and has been named among Research.com's "Top 1% Leading Scientists in the World" for four consecutive years from 2022 to 2025. He is also listed in the International Who's Who of Intellectuals (Ninth Edition, 1992) and Who's Who in America (Sixty-First Edition, 2007).

Beyond these honors, Professor N'Guerekata has demonstrated exceptional leadership in the academic community through his organization and chairing of numerous special sessions at major national and international meetings. These include sessions at the American Mathematical Society in 2005, the International Conferences on Differential Equations and Dynamical Systems in Edinburg, Texas (2006) and Baltimore, Maryland (2008), the World Conference on Differential Equations in Marrakesh, Morocco (2006), the Joint Mathematics Meetings in Washington D.C. (2008), San Francisco (2010), and New Orleans (2011), as well as the Southeastern Atlantic Conference on Differential Equations in Kennesaw, Georgia (2003), and the Applied Mathematics Workshop at Delaware State University (2005).

His scholarly influence is further evidenced by his extensive invited lecture engagements across Europe and the United States. In 2006, he was the invited speaker for the prestigious Claytor-Woodard Lecture at the Annual Joint Mathematics Meeting in San Antonio, Texas. He has delivered invited talks at numerous distinguished institutions across the United States, including the University of Delaware, the University of Maryland Baltimore County, Delaware State University, Howard University, St. Joseph University, Rice University, the University of Memphis, the State University of New York at Buffalo, Virginia Tech, the Florida Institute of Technology, California Polytechnic Institute Pomona, the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, Kennesaw State University, Norfolk State University, and Auburn University. In Europe, he has spoken at the University of Montreal in Canada, Université Panthéon-Sorbonne (Paris 1) in France, the Institut Henri Poincaré in Paris, and Université des Antilles et de la Guyane, as well as at the University of Puerto Rico Rio Piedras. He also served as a keynote speaker at the NAM-MathFest at Dillard University in 2011 and at the MMAE conference in Pointe-à-Pitre in 2011.

In addition to his research and lecturing, Professor N'Guerekata has made lasting contributions to the development of young scholars through his dedicated mentorship. He served as Chair of the Ph.D. Dissertation Committee for a doctoral candidate at the University of Science and Technology of China in 2007, and was a member of dissertation committees for doctoral candidates at Howard University, Université Cadi Ayyad in Morocco, Université des Antilles et de la Guyane, Delaware State University, and Université Cheikh Anta Diop in Senegal, spanning from 2006 to 2016.
